BERGER 2026 / 20 July - 10 August 2026
|
|
For the safety of participants.
The gouffre Berger has a reputation for being ‘the easiest -1000’. That may be true, but it's definitely a -1000! And it shouldn't be taken lightly. Exploring it requires technical ability, endurance and... humility. There is no shame in turning back, and there never will be. BWe strongly recommend that you plan to be present for at least five days: good weather conditions are not guaranteed, and you need to be a little adaptable with your dates to reach -1000!
Regarding the concept of gathering.
The Berger 2026 international camp is first a place for meeting and exchange. The base camp is equipped for this purpose. Other caves are rigged for spending several days of activity. Festivities such as ‘Petzl Day’, meetings with the “Anciens”, and communal meals each evening will be organised for you. Base camp residents will have free and permanent access to the José Mulot Speleo-Tour. The registration fee includes two nights' accommodation at the camp (10 euros), to encourage you to stay there. If you do decide to stay elsewhere, this amount will be considered your ‘generous and voluntary contribution’ to the management of the site! For the Berger 2026 volunteer team, |
